View of Lake Tahoe from the Rubicon Trail.
At this time (June, 2008), there were over 900 wildfires burning in the state of California, making for hazy conditions everywhere. This was the clearest day of the week.

This summer (2008) was our first up in Northern CA - where we are at 1400' on the western Sierra foothills had us right in the inversion layer of all that smoke -ugg- it was horrible! But it made for awesome sunsets

Love this view - we're going to have to search out this trail

It's a beautiful hike... the haze from the smoke made it a little tougher.
