A re-do of an earlier submission with an addition: Pigeon Point Lighthouse 40 miles south of San Francisco. The original shot was taken early on an overcast morning.
1: Using PS Elements 8, I created a Hue & Saturation layer and darkened the photo to look like evening.
2: I created another layer and with a soft brush at 20% opacity I brushed in the glow in the windows.
3: Another layer was created using a transparent gradient with the color removed and a soft edge eraser to make the light beam.
4: A star brush was used to create the light flare.
5: I chose a shot from my Clouds album, layered it over the lighthouse, reduced the opacity and using a soft edge eraser I created the fog effect.
6: I used the Dodge tool to highlight the light beam in the fog.
7: I layered in a closeup shot of a Saxophone, reduced opacity to 13% and erased to blend
