First Light Eagle Lake by Allen59 First Light Eagle Lake by Allen59
Self portrait; The first light of day reflects in Eagle Lake above Lake Tahoe.
The hike is up hill to the lake with an elevation climb of 1500 feet in a little over a mile... and it's well worth the effort. I was there for 3 hours and never saw nor heard another person till I was half way back down the trail.

Beautiful shot..... you must have a self-timer longer than 10 seconds!

I set it to the maximum of 30 seconds. The hike is 1.3 miles one way and has an elevation climb of 1500 feet to the lake. I was up there for a couple of hours and didn't see another soul till I was halfway down the trail heading back to the car.

North end, or south? I should Googlemap it. About 10 years ago I rode my bicycle completely around that lake.... scariest part was being in the tunnel!

The trailhead starts at Eagle Falls above Emerald Bay on the east side
